SENIOR TAX ACCOUNTANT - OAKLAND

Alexander & Baldwin's Tax Department is seeking an individual to prepare tax information and analysis for corporate tax returns and provisions. This position will be located in Oakland at A&B's Matson offices (Matson is a subsidiary company of A&B). The Matson office is located 1 block from the Oakland City Center BART station. The primary focus of this position will be on the real estate leasing and development segments of our diversified operations. The position will be responsible for working with property accountants to develop tax information related to depreciation, tax basis, capitalization and revenue recognition analysis, like-kind exchanges, and joint ventures. Work includes tax return and estimated tax payment preparation, as well as tax accounting analysis and forecasts. The tax department includes eight tax professionals working in a flexible team-oriented atmosphere.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years corporate tax experience, including tax return preparation and tax provision work involving real estate transactions and fixed assets. Candidate must have excellent analytical and documentation skills, and the ability to speak and write clearly. The position requires a detail oriented individual who will recommend and implement more efficient processes. Insource software experience preferred.
